Khôra
We zitten in de problemen. Of het nu oorlog in Europa is of een klimaatnoodsituatie: we worden continu geconfronteerd met acute, existentiële zorgen die onze soort bedreigen. In Khôra filosofeert Astrid Boons over een wereld zonder de mens en hoe we daar terecht komen.
Over dansvoorstelling Khôra
Postmenselijk, omdat we ons steeds meer wenden tot een toekomst waarin technologie leidend is. En ontbinding omdat de ruimte voor het menselijk lichaam in deze toekomst steeds kleiner wordt.
In Khôra, haar meest ambitieuze productie tot dusver, probeert Astrid Boons antwoord te geven op het vraagstuk hoe mensen zich verhouden tegenover de snelle technologische innovaties. Vijf performers omarmen verschillende mogelijkheden van belichaming en zoeken naar manieren om zich weer te gronden in onze menselijkheid.

We are in trouble. Whether it’s war in Europe or a climate emergency, we are constantly faced with acute, existential concerns that threaten our species. In Khôra, Astrid Boons philosophizes about a posthuman world and the social dissolution we are going through.
Posthuman because we are increasingly turning toward a future in which technology is leading. And dissolution because the space for the body in this future is getting smaller and smaller. What is the impact of this denial of our lived bodily experience? And what does it mean for our sense of being human? In Khôra, her most ambitious production to date, Astrid Boons attempts to answer these questions. Five performers embrace different possibilities of embodiment and search for ways to re-ground themselves in our humanity.
