In these times of crisis, ROOM IN OUR HOUSE offers a groundbreaking countervoice. Nicole Beutler and Michelle Schenandoah invite audiences to explore their own responsibility in the process of peacemaking.
About ROOM IN OUR HOUSE
Two men meet. Their strength resides in their bodies. Both dancers live in the here and now. At the same time, they are connected by a complex colonial history. One is the child of survivors, the other the heir of oppressors. Two worlds collide. Is peace possible?

CLOSE ENCOUNTER / FUTURE STORIES
Following the completion of the climate trilogy with the dance opera NOW WE ARE EARTH, Nicole Beutler Projects turns its focus to new perspectives on humanity’s future on Earth. This has resulted in politically poetic performances that strive for an inclusive society and draw attention to social justice and Indigenous knowledge.
For this production, Beutler collaborated with Michelle Schenandoah, founder of Rematriation — an organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of Indigenous women.
