Nobody goes out anymore: out of their houses, out of their worn-out habits and assigned bodies, out of their irrational fears and self-defeating anger. Life is definitely not a walk in the park, if it ever was.
About HOT WALK
The world is too hot to stroll. Yet, Levi invites you to join a virtual promenade through a burned landscape. While she cannot promise you anything, she holds onto an improbable hope: if we keep in step with each other, we might just arrive back home, refreshed.
What if global warming is Earth's own menopause? HOT WALK is a multidisciplinary performance by Keren Levi |NeverLike exploring climate change, aging, and parenthood side by side. Two women walk on a treadmill as a picturesque park unfolds behind them, projected, never quite real. They discuss (gossip?) about the whereabouts of an absent woman, until speech gives way to dance and image: walking turns into rocking, speaking into singing, the simulated park into other worlds. As audience, we witness a blend of dry humor and disquieting interaction, creating an impression of lively spontaneity within the controlled aesthetics of the simulated park. By blending the personal with the planetary, HOT WALK holds the warming of a body and the warming of a planet in the same frame, the inner climate and the outer climate, destruction beside renewal.
The performance is spoken in English with Dutch surtitels.

Over Keren Levi
Keren Levi is a choreographer based in Amsterdam, leading the company NeverLike. Her work is idiosyncratic, multidisciplinary, and conceptual, often blending dance, music, and video. Levi’s performances are structured around principles of film and music, exploring themes with a tender-sharp feminist focus.
