Kalpanarts comes to the Schuur with their new production Triple Vision. Kalpanarts presents three unique pieces in a triple bill: a remake of two duets (Tara and Fluid) and a brand-new solo (Whisper). The duets originally premiered online during the COVID period. Due to the overwhelming response, they are finally going on tour.
About the dance performance Triple Vision
The three pieces embody what Kalpanarts stands for: bringing together different styles and disciplines, and placing Indian culture in a contemporary context. Each work explores themes of tradition and modernity, personal and societal narratives, and the dynamic relationship between culture and identity.
Whisper delves into the personal struggle within the medical care system. This solo portrays the fight to be taken seriously in a system that doesn't always listen. Tara explores the cosmic pull between dance and music, blending classical Indian dance forms with the raw energy of rock music. Fluid challenges the boundaries of masculinity and strength by merging the dynamic movements of breakdance with the emotional depth of Indian vocal traditions.
