With the annually recurring programme Club Guy & Roni invites…, Club Guy & Roni creates space for artistic encounter and exchange. In this programme, the dancers of the Poetic Disasters Club collaborate with guest choreographers and also revive works from the repertoire of Club Guy & Roni.

About the dance performance Pink Smoke

Where Club Invites once began as a platform for emerging talent, the programme has since developed into a space for long-term artistic growth. Makers return, ideas are given the chance to evolve further, and different artistic worlds meet on stage.

For the sixth edition, Club Guy & Roni invites choreographer Mohamed Yusuf Boss, who was previously part of Club Invites (2022). Alongside his new work, the dancers also present FREIHEIT, a performance by Guy & Roni originally developed in collaboration with tanzmainz.

In this double bill, two artistic trajectories come together: a new chapter by a returning maker, and a work born from international collaboration. In this way, Club Invites continues to be a space where development, exchange and curiosity are central — for makers, dancers and audiences alike.

WARQAD | Mohamed Yusuf Boss

WARQAD is an intimate dance performance about rituals of loss, inspired by Japanese traditions. A journey through time and memory, with the central question: how can rituals help us let go?

WARQAD, which means paper” in Somali, explores rituals that help us deal with loss. Large, fragile sheets of washi paper are used by the dancers as symbols of vulnerable, surviving memories. How do we relate to a world that is constantly fading?

FREIHEIT | Club Guy & Roni

FREIHEIT explores freedom and the boundaries we impose on one another.

The performance was created in 2019 with tanzmainz and reflects on a world that promises endless choices, yet often still feels restrictive.

Every 3 minutes and 22 seconds, space, light and music change. The dancers move through ever-shifting boundaries between people and ideas, with the body becoming a place of both liberation and confrontation.

FREIHEIT poses one simple but sharp question: where does my freedom end and where does yours begin?

Mohamed Yusuf Boss

Mohamed Yusuf Boss works at the intersection of dance, performance and social urgency. In his work, he combines physical strength with personal and collective narratives. His movement language is direct and charged: energetic, rhythmic, and rooted in both street and contemporary dance.

Boss explores themes such as identity, migration, masculinity and community. On stage, he creates spaces where vulnerability and strength exist side by side.

Following the performances SHAN (2016), AFAR (2019) and KÓW (2020), Mohamed previously took part in Club Guy & Roni Invites in the 2021 – 22 season with the performance LABA. With Warqad, Mohamed returns to Club Guy & Roni.

Club Guy & Roni

Guy Weizman and Roni Haver form the artistic core of Club Guy & Roni. Since the company’s founding, they have built an international practice in which dance, music, theatre and visual arts come together.

Their work is known for its energy, bold gestures and attention to emerging makers. In 2025, they received the Gouden Zwaan, the most important dance award in the Netherlands, in recognition of their innovative and boundary-pushing contribution to dance. In 2026, they received the international Jiří Kylián Ring for their lasting impact on the dance world.

Poetic Disasters Club

The Poetic Disasters Club is the junior company of Club Guy & Roni and a breeding ground for young, talented international dancers.

In this experimental setting, they are given a year to fully immerse themselves in innovative productions by international makers. Experimentation is central, with a constant focus on research and development. The Poetic Disasters Club performs in theatres and on location across the country and far beyond.
