Driven by profound life questions, choreographer Astrid Boons weaves philosophical and emotional layers into her own unique physical dance language. In her new trilogy, Boons explores what it means to be human in an increasingly digital world. In Deep Time, she invites us to reconnect with our bodies and reflect on how we want and can live together.
About the dance performance Deep Time
While the first part, KHÔRA, reflects on a possible new post-human world, Deep Time explores the limits of our adaptability. In this alternate reality, three dancers transform their forms. Through shapeshifting, they use natural elements from their environment to survive. In these physical transformations, they reconsider both their identity and the ways they are connected to each other.
Boons poses an intriguing question: Is there a limit to our ability to adapt? And what does the capacity to change mean for our humanity? Deep Time is a physical and visual journey that invites reflection on the future of humankind.
