Double Bill: Children of Zeus X Daughters

This evening unfolds in two parts. First, the live exhibition Children of Zeus invites you into a mythical swamp where queer bodies reclaim freedom from patriarchal power. It is followed by a screening of the film Daughters, which carries this search for a fluid, collective world into a lake utopia born from Finnish folklore.

About dance performance Children of Zeus

The evening opens with Children of Zeus, a live exhibition in which two queer children discover the healing power of water within a mythical swamp. Here, they manifest their freedom, stepping outside the oppressive patriarchal powers of Zeus. Old paradigms fade, though not without obstacles: through their transformative powers, the children shape a fluid world in which they attempt to restore the balance between humanity and nature. The knowledge of their ancestors surfaces here in breath and rhythm, discovered through the body, water, and installation. The friction between forgotten histories and the rise of a technological humanity forms a key starting point for their journey into this mythical swamp.

About movie Daughters

A Woman waits, trapped in the monotony of her world, until a message arrives and the destination for her disappearance is set. She follows the call to a body of water, the hidden home of the Daughters. Here, they move freely, unburdened, authors of their own collective myth. But when warning signals from the outside world begin to seep through, the question emerges: will their utopia hold, or will something darker rise within them? Daughters offers an alternative continuum to the tragic fate of Aino, the Finnish folklore character, imagining instead her Daughters living freely in a lake utopia.

Together, Children of Zeus and Daughters form one evening built around water as a space of transformation, two mythical worlds where old structures dissolve and new, freer ways of being are born.
