In the dryly comical German drama Was Marielle Weiss, Marielle suddenly sees and hears everything her parents do and say. An intriguing premise with absurd and confrontational consequences.
Julia (Julia Jentsch) and Tobias (Felix Kramer) lead a good life with their daughter Marielle (Laenie Geiseler). They have a beautiful home and both have successful careers. But both parents also have their secrets. After an incident at Marielle's school, everything changes: she suddenly seems to be able to see and hear everything her parents do, even behind closed doors.
Slowly but surely, the little lies and tensions within her parents' marriage come to light. Julia and Tobias can no longer ignore them. Was Marielle Weiss was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival.
