A Russian teacher secretly documents his small town school's transformation into a war recruitment center during the Ukraine invasion, revealing the ethical dilemmas educators face amid propaganda and militarization.
As Russia launches its large-scale invasion of Ukraine, elementary schools are being turned into recruitment centers for the army. A courageous teacher faces an ethical dilemma: should he cooperate with a system characterized by propaganda and violence? He decides to go undercover and film what is really happening at his school.

About Kiriko Mechanicus
Kiriko Mechanicus (she/her, 1995), also known as Kiri Academy, is an Amsterdam-based documentary filmmaker, writer of fiction and non-fiction, culinary writer, podcaster and part-time partygirl. Her graduation film ‘A TOMATO TRAGEDY’ (2023) was selected for the Nederlands Film Festival and won the Filmfonds Wildcard prize. She directs music videos, short documentaries, experimental videos and babbles about cinema endlessly (publicly).
