The unemployed Antonio needs a bicycle for his new job as a bill poster, but when it is stolen on his very first day of work, he wanders through Rome with his young son in search of the thief.
About Ladri di biciclette
Perhaps the best-known film of the Italian Neorealist movement, Ladri di biciclette was shot with non-professional actors on the streets of Rome shortly after the Second World War.
The film—honoured with an Honorary Academy Award in 1950 as the year's outstanding foreign-language film—is presented in a 2018 4K restoration by the Cineteca di Bologna.
