Director Lone Scherfig brings the challenging do-it-yourself principles of the Dogma '95 movement to a joyful romantic comedy in this touching portrait of seven strangers on a shared journey of discovery.
In a small, rainy Danish suburb, a motley crew of opposites have signed up for an Italian class in the hopes of brightening their lives. They soon realize that the class offers them more than just language lessons and embark on a trip to Italy together in search of romance and adventure.

On Sunday June 22nd, the Schuur and the ExpatsHaarlem community are coming together for the monthly Expat Cinema meet-up! Get to know new faces, catch up with each other, discuss the film or play a boardgame- our café is your living room. Our hosts of the evening are Arianna Ardia (ExpatsHaarlem) and stand op comedian Diego Loiacono.
Due to a very large event taking place at Schuur at the same time, there will be no dinner option this time. However, you are invited to a small aperitivo 20 minutes before the start of the film!

Arianna Ardia is half Italian and half Dutch. She was born in Rome, grew up in Florence, and came to her mother’s country to study – including Film and Theatre Studies. Tonight, she brings together her passions: Italy and culture, in the Netherlands. She will be your proud host for the evening.
Diego Loiacono moved from the south of Italy to the Netherlands for the same reason that connects all of us expats: work. He has been a stand-up comedian for two and a half years and is now ready to co-host this evening together with Arianna!
