Unconventional thriller, based on the Iranian 'spider killer'

A journalist descends into the dark underbelly of the Iranian holy city of Mashhad as she investigates the serial killings of sex workers by the so called "spider killer", who believes he is cleansing the streets of sinners. Religious conviction, lack of emancipation and a violent past have created a true monster. Actress Zar Amir Ebrahimi has made the journalist a hero of our time, at the Cannes film festival she won the award for best actress.
