Expat Cinema: EO

The world through the loving and nostalgic eyes of a donkey named EO ("eee-ohhh").

As he finds his way from Poland to Italy, EO meets both good and bad people. He feels joy and pain, the randomness of fortune, and sees happiness turn to disaster, which in his desperation turns into a relief. But contrary to humkans, he never loses his innocence.

Legendary Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski creates a symbolic sequel to Bresson's classic Au Hasard Balthazar from 1966. EO was awarded the Cannes jury prize.
